Nate Gibson & the Stardazers w/ The Cock-A-Doodle Dudes

One of the area’s top music scholars, Nate Gibson undertook a project that united passion and performance – tracking down the then-surviving artists from the Starday record label to join them on re-recorded versions of their historic catalog. Gibson’s easygoing stage presence leans more towards vintage hillbilly boppers than rockabilly, but he and his band (featuring the hot picking of guitarist Andrew Harrison) can jump the boogie as high as anyone.

And who, pray tell, are the Cock-A-Doodle Dudes? Why, they are the intrepid hosts of the Red Rooster’s monthly Country Music Jam! In the few short months they’ve been together, they realized they were having so much fun making music together that they needed to actually become their own band – with a name directly inspired by our venue! (Yes, we’re blushing, just a bit.)
