We seem to have a burst of talented musicians from Canada passing through the Red Rooster – add multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Miss Emily to that list!
A performer for more than two decades, her career finally saw recognition in 2020 with a trio of Maple Blues Awards: Female Vocalist, New Artist, and Sapphire Blues Video of the year – issued right before Covid shut down live music performances. Undaunted, she and her colleagues reviewed six nights of concert recordings from her adopted home of Kingston, Ontario to compile a live CD. In 2022, that recording, LIVE at the Isabel, earned her an even more prestigious commendation: nomination as Best Blues Album in the Juno Awards – Canada’s Grammys.
