Matthew Skoller and Chicago Wind

With over 40 years of experience, Matthew Skoller is one of the unquestioned leaders of blues harmonica. He spent several formative years in Milwaukee, shaped by venerable artists such as Stokes and Jimi Schutte (the latter of whom joined him for a residency in Paris, France).

Skoller credits Sonny Boy Williamson II and Junior Wells as his strongest early influences, and over the decades has worked with virtually every Chicago blues musician of note. He has also championed numerous other artistic and community development efforts in Chicago and beyond.
