Nate Gibson & the Stardazers with Two Trick Pony

One of the area’s top music scholars, Nate Gibson undertook a project that united passion and performance – tracking down the then-surviving artists from the Starday record label to join them on re-recorded versions of their historic catalog. Gibson’s easygoing stage presence leans more towards vintage hillbilly boppers than rockabilly, but he and his band (featuring the hot picking of guitarist Andrew Harrison) can jump the boogie as high as anyone.

Two Trick Pony plays original “modern vintage” country music. The trio features Dan Kennedy on guitar and vocals, Bob Boyd (Mark Croft Band) on drums and vocals, and Michael Mood (Beth Kille Band) on bass and vocals. It’s radio-ready country with a side of Laurel Canyon and a little bit of Texas on top.
